XXIII. International scientific conference of bachelor´s and master´s degree students

A student of our laboratory Soňa Vrbenská took 3rd place at the conference, where she presented the issue of microbial contamination and the possibility of cleaning the ventilation systems of prefabricated buildings. Soňa- congratulations!!!

Werner von Siemens Prize 2024

The Czech Siemens awarded the Werner von Siemens Prizes 2024 to the best students, young scientists and teachers. Our colleague Nikola Hanišáková was ranked in the TOP 5 dissertations dealing with Smart Infrastructure and Energy in the twenty-seventh edition of the Werner von Siemens competition. Niky - congratulations!!!

Field consultation at a biogas plant

We visited an agricultural biogas plant. We discussed microbially induced corrosion with the biogas plant operator and colleagues from the Brno University of Technology.

March in Motion: Preparing Project Proposals

Throughout March, we focused on preparing five project proposals covering important topics in environmental microbiology. These included microbially induced corrosion, reducing methane emissions in agriculture, and the role of sulfate-reducing bacteria in the intestinal tract.
