Award of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic
Professor Růžek's research activities were awarded by the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The prize was awarded in particular for findings related to covid-19 and tick-borne encephalitis.

At the end of November, six scientists received the Award of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic for outstanding scientific achievements from the hands of the President of Sciences, Professor Eva Zažímalová.Professor Daniel Růžek was also among the awardees.
In his research activities, Professor Růžek deals, among other things, with the pathogenesis of viral emergent infections and the development of new therapeutic approaches. In the case of covid-19 disease and tick-borne encephalitis, this involves the development of therapeutic antibodies.
His scientific achievements have been aided, among other things, by his collaboration with Nobel laureate Charles M. Rice, which is still ongoing.
