A colleague from Pécs visiting our lab

At the end of May, we had the pleasure of hosting Zoltán Kopasz, a PhD student from the National Laboratory of Virology in Pécs, Hungary. Zoltán spent two weeks in our lab as part of a short internship focused on working with tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV). During his stay, he became familiar with our laboratory methods and tested our established screening platforms for evaluating antivirals against TBEV.
At his home institution, Zoltán primarily works on antiviral testing against Zika virus but is also involved in other projects, including research conducted in high-biosafety (BSL-4) laboratories.
His visit was not only a valuable experience for Zoltán but also a great opportunity for our team - to exchange knowledge, discuss new ideas, and strengthen our collaboration. We hope Zoltán gained valuable insights, built new professional connections and friendships, and enjoyed a trip with our team to Mikulov and other beautiful places in the Czech Republic. Thank you for visiting us - we look forward to future joint projects!
