Visit of Ludmilla Aristilde from Northwestern University

10 Jul 2025

In July, Professor Ludmilla Aristilde from Northwestern University in Chicago visited Brno and our laboratory. During her three-day stay, she toured the Masaryk University campus and the Microbial Bioengineering Laboratory, learned about our research, and gave a lecture entitled "Unraveling Bacterial Pathways in the Metabolism of Complex Carbon Feedstocks: From Natural Carbon Cycling to Engineered Carbon Recycling". We also had the chance to introduce Ludmilla to some of Brno’s architectural and culinary delights.

Ludmilla’s research group integrates experimental and theoretical approaches to study microbial metabolism. Through multi-omics analyses and modeling techniques, they aim to understand how bacteria process complex carbon feedstocks. Her research closely aligns with the goals of the MBL, and we look forward to future collaborations!
