Visit in the biotech company Arxada
On Friday 11.10., several MBL members together with other representatives of MUNI SCI and several companies from the Bohunice campus visited the production facilities of the Swiss biotechnology company Arxada in Kouřim, Czech Republic. The visit included a tour of the production facilities (including the unique 75 m3 bioreactors or unique infrastructure for large-scale downstream processes) and R&D department of the company and presentations by the participants of the meeting. We spent the whole Friday in Kouřim and throughout the whole time we were intensively attended by the close management of the branch headed by the director Zdeňka Čermáková and the manager Vratislav Št'ovíček. We took away from the visit a lot of unique experiences and knowledge from a real industrial biotechnology operation and we look forward to future cooperation.
