Pavel Dvořák has been awarded the Jay Bailey Young Investigator Award in Metabolic Engineering. The award has been presented once every two years since 2014 to a young talented researcher in the field of metabolic engineering by the International Metabolic Engineering Society (IMES). The award will be handed over this June during the Metabolic Engineering conference in Singapore. The candidate is usually nominated by eminent figures in the field of metabolic engineering, must be active in this research area, and must convince the international jury of his/her scientific and teaching qualities and independence. Previous awardees have come from top research centres and universities in Western Europe and the USA, where the field of metabolic engineering originated in the 1990s.
