MBL opens postdoc position in microbial synthetic biology
The research group of Dr. Pavel Dvořák at Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic, is looking for a motivated scientist for the postdoctoral position in microbial synthetic biology. The position opens in March 2022 (but the start is negotiable). We are seeking a candidate with the potential to become a long-term member of our team.
We expect
- Solid theoretical and practical knowledge of molecular biology and bacterial physiology (Ph.D. in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, biotechnology, synthetic biology, or similar field)
- Proficiency in molecular cloning, practical experience with cell cultures and analytical techniques (e.g., SDS-PAGE, western blotting, enzymatic assays, HPLC, GC...)
- Additional skills in enzymology, protein engineering, metabolic engineering, microbial synthetic biology (genome editing techniques), microbial biotechnology, or programming are advantageous
- Experience with publishing own research in Q1 journal(s)
- Proficiency in English (spoken, written, intermediate level B2 or higher)
- Critical thinking, self-reliance, flexibility, willingness to learn new things
- Starting a position within 8 years after obtaining the Ph.D.
- In case of obtaining a Ph.D. degree at MU, the condition is to complete the first PostDoc position outside MU (min. 2 years)
