Job Description

The research group of Dr. Pavel Dvořák at Masaryk University (https://mik.sci.muni.cz/mbl), Brno, Czech Republic, is looking for a motivated scientist for the research position in microbial synthetic biology. The position opens in July 2022 but the start is negotiable.

We require:

  • Solid theoretical and practical knowledge of molecular biology (Ph.D. in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, biotechnology, synthetic biology, or a similar field)
  • Practical experience with gene cloning or genome editing techniques is welcomed as well as practical experience with microbial cell cultures and analytical techniques (e.g., SDS-PAGE, western blotting, enzymatic assays, HPLC, GC...)
  • Additional skills in enzymology, protein engineering, microbial synthetic biology, microbial biotechnology, or programming are advantageous
  • Experience with publishing own research in Q1 journal(s)
  • Proficiency in English (spoken, written, level B2 or higher)
  • Critical thinking, self-reliance, flexibility, willingness to learn new things
