We are pleased to announce the launch of the new web platform Czech SynBio Node! The aim of this project is to promote synthetic biology and to present together academic and non-academic departments, laboratories and companies involved in engineering biology in the Czech Republic.
Synthetic biology is a fascinating field and discipline that is pushing the boundaries of basic knowledge about the functioning of the living cell and living systems in general. At the same time, it applies this knowledge for the benefit of society towards solving local and global problems in areas where biology can provide solutions – human and animal health, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, biotechnological production of chemicals and new materials, or bioenergy.
Synthetic biology is the synthesis of centuries of human knowledge of biology and new engineering approaches to enable humanity to better understand and properly grasp the immense richness of life on planet Earth. Engineering biology is experiencing a massive development worldwide. We want the Czech Republic, whose economy and culture have always benefited from the progressiveness and technical skills of its people, to be part of this stream and to have a firm place in it.
