Barbora and Stanislav participate in the iGEM competition.

14 May 2020

At the beginning of this year, our two undergraduate students, Barbora and Stanislav, founded their own team in the worldwide competition in
synthetic biology – The International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM). They put together a team of 15 enthusiastic young students from Masaryk
University and Brno University of Technology with a wide range of specializations to cover all the components of this highly complex contest.
Their team is the first one to be formed in Brno and the second-ever iGEM team from the Czech Republic. The team project idea is to create a device, which
would be able to destroy cyanobacterial bloom, degrade harmful cyanotoxins, and also collect phosphorus from the broken bacterial cells and the aquatic environment. We are happy to announce that at this moment the team is officially registered to the iGEM competition. We keep fingers crossed for them and are looking forward to their future successes!
