MBL research published in Metabolic Engineering journal
Our collaborative research with colleagues from the Technical University of Denmark was published in one of the top journals in applied microbiology and biotechnology field - Metabolic Engineering. In the paper entitled Engineering of Pseudomonas putida for accelerated co-utilization of glucose and cellobiose yields aerobic overproduction of pyruvate explained by an upgraded metabolic model, authored by Dalimil and co-authored by Barča, we introduce a novel strategy for aerobic overproduction of important metabolic precursor of many useful chemicals - pyruvate - in bacterial cells. We also present an upgraded version of the genome-scale metabolic model of our favorite host Pseudomonas putida, which will find its use in future metabolic engineering studies of this popular bacterium. Good job Dalimil and Barča!
