MBL organizes ASBE VII in Brno Planetarium
Brno, the birthplace of genetics thanks to Gregor Mendel, hosted the prestigious Applied Synthetic Biology in Europe VII conference from 6th to 8th of November organized by the MBL and the European Federation of Biotechnology. The event brought together over 150 experts from more than 30 countries to discuss how genetically modified organisms can address global challenges such as climate change, cancer, and sustainability.
MBL was proudly represented by postdocs Anastasiia and Miguel, as well as PhD students Matúš and Baru. Anastasiia delivered an oral presentation on the development of synthetic biology tools for gram-negative thermophiles. Miguel, Baru, and Matúš showcased their ongoing projects in form of posters, with Matúš winning the Best Poster Award. Congratulations! Held at the Brno Planetarium, the conference showcased the city’s ambition to become an internationally recognized SynBio hub in Central Europe.
