Ph.D. position in microbial synthetic biology
The research group of Dr. Pavel Dvořák at Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic, is seeking a motivated student for a Ph.D. position, topic: Development of genetic engineering and synthetic biology tools for thermophilic bioplastics-producing bacteria. The position opens in July 2022.
We expect
- Solid theoretical and practical knowledge of molecular biology. Additional skills in microbial physiology/microbiology, analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, SDS-PAGE, western blotting etc.), enzymology, microbial synthetic biology, bioinformatics, or microbial biotechnology are advantageous
- Good English (spoken, written), intermediate level (B2) or higher
- Critical thinking, self-reliance, flexibility, willingness to learn new things
