The research investigates the physiological characteristics and environmental tolerances of the strain, including its responses to temperature, pH, salinity, ammonium concentration, and silver nanoparticles. Whole-genome sequencing, corrosion assessment, and advanced electron microscopy analyses revealed important insights into the organism’s adaptation and performance under suboptimal conditions. The findings contribute to a better understanding of microbial processes driving underground biomethanation and provide valuable knowledge for optimizing methane production and improving the efficiency of future green energy storage systems.
